We are delighted to have featured in a recent episode of the BBC series, ‘Appsolute Genius’ with Dick and Dom. In the episode, which first aired on 21st October 2014, Dick and Dom - two of the UK’s most popular children’s TV presenters, discover how characters are created for computer games.
Dimensional Imaging’s CEO Colin Urquhart showed how the company’s technology could be used to create realistic video game versions of Dick and Dom.
“We were thrilled to be asked to be involved in ‘Appsolute Genius’ with Dick and Dom. Dimensional Imaging has become renowned for providing high fidelity facial data of real-life actors and sports stars for triple A video games and it was great fun to create video game versions of Dick and Dom for the show. We first used our DI3D system to capture Dick and Dom’s 3D images in super high resolution and we then used our head mounted camera system, DI4D HMC, to capture their facial performances. I think it is fair to say that Dick and Dom were surprised by the realism of their digital doubles!”
